The Privacy Policy, last updated 18 July 2026, names the same company, StoryMatrix Pte. Ltd., as the data controller and states a registered Singapore address. Google's own Play Store listing for the app carries a verified 'About the developer' panel naming STORYMATRIX PTE. LTD. at 250 North Bridge Road, Raffles City Tower, Singapore, with a stated contact email and phone number.

What the documents establish

Three documents converge on one entity and one jurisdiction: a Singapore-incorporated company, StoryMatrix, operating the DramaBox platform under that legal name. Google's developer verification is maintained independently of the company's own policy pages, so its agreement with the terms and privacy text is a form of cross-check rather than a single repeated claim. None of the three documents names a parent, holding company, or an entity based in mainland China, despite reporting on the export short-drama sector widely describing it as substantially China-linked in production and financing.

Scope and caveats

Each source here is the operator's own statement about itself; none is an independent registry filing. Singapore's ACRA business registry could not be opened for a cross-check during this research, including through a browser-identified request and the r.jina.ai text proxy — both returned an access block rather than a company record. The privacy policy also refers to sharing data with 'affiliated entities' without naming any of them, which is a gap rather than a denial: it leaves room for a wider group structure the company has chosen not to publish. The hinted corporate site, storymatrix.com, no longer functions as a company page; it now redirects to a domain-marketplace listing, which is evidence the company does not currently maintain a distinct public site there, not evidence about ownership itself.

What to watch

Editorially, the next useful check is whether a future funding round, litigation filing, or platform-partner announcement ever names a parent or controlling shareholder for StoryMatrix, since none of the company's own consumer-facing documents currently do.

• Does a stated registered address belong to the operating company itself, or to a registered-office or virtual-office provider?
• Has any regulator, court record, or investor document named a parent where a company's own consumer documents do not?

A company's own terms and its app-store listing are the floor of what is publicly documented about who runs a product, not the roof; where a registry cannot be checked, the honest position is to say so rather than fill the gap with a name drawn from reporting alone.
