The figure or the record
Holywater's own announcement, dated 15 January 2026, states a $22 million Series A round intended to 'grow My Drama and other products'. A separate announcement dated 7 October 2025 states that Fox Entertainment will produce 'more than 200 vertical video titles for My Drama over next two years' alongside an equity stake investment.
What the documents establish
The Series A post establishes a specific round size in dollars and a stated use of proceeds, but it does not name a single investor, a pre- or post-money valuation, or an ownership percentage. The Fox announcement establishes a title-production commitment and describes an equity stake, but it does not state the investment amount, the size of the stake, or a valuation; it names collaboration areas, production, ad sales, brand partnerships, without financial terms attached to any of them. Read side by side, the two posts from the same company disclose different categories of fact: one discloses capital and omits ownership, the other discloses ownership in kind but omits capital.
Scope and caveats
Both documents are company-authored announcements, not filings, and neither is obliged to disclose terms it omits; a private company under no exchange-listing requirement can publish exactly as much financial detail as it chooses. Neither post states a company valuation at any point, so no ownership percentage can be inferred from the disclosed figures in either announcement, and neither post names a lead investor, a law firm, or a closing date for the round or the partnership. A reader working only from these two pages cannot reconstruct a capitalisation table, a post-money valuation, or the size of the Fox equity stake in dollars or in percentage terms; those facts, if they exist in a signed agreement, are not part of either public announcement.
What to watch
An editorial checklist for any funding or partnership announcement in this ledger: read for what is stated in dollars, what is stated as a stake or commitment without a dollar figure, and what is left out of both, since press coverage built on the announcement alone will usually inherit the same gaps. A later filing, a funding-database entry, or a follow-up interview may fill one of these gaps without amending the original company post, so the two should be checked against each other rather than treated as a single continuous record.
- Does the announcement state a round size or investment amount in a named currency?
- Does it state a valuation, an ownership percentage, or neither?
- Does it name the specific investors or partners, or only describe the relationship?
A funding announcement is written to be shared, not to be complete, and the two posts above show a single company choosing a different set of omissions each time.
