The ledger read

The $22 million is verified; the operational thesis spans multiple products, and public growth claims are not yet a reconciled financial series.

The financing fact

Holywater announced on January 15, 2026 that it had closed a $22 million financing round. Axios described it as a Series A and reported that Horizon Capital led, with Endeavor Catalyst and Wheelhouse among U.S. participants. The funding amount and named investors are the firmest public facts. The company said the round followed Fox Entertainment's October 2025 investment, connecting the new capital to an existing content-partnership strategy rather than presenting it as a first outside validation.

A portfolio, not a single app

Holywater's own announcement named My Drama for vertical series, My Passion for books and My Muse for AI streaming. Axios additionally described Freebits as an ad-supported vertical-streaming product. This product map matters because a financing headline that is casually described as 'My Drama funding' narrows the stated scope. The company is presenting a wider system for IP, distribution and monetization.

That does not prove a closed-loop content advantage. The public materials do not provide a cohort analysis showing that a book reader becomes a My Drama payer, that AI titles improve retention, or that Freebits subsidizes acquisition. Those are plausible business hypotheses, not disclosed operating results. The ledger should preserve them as company strategy rather than turn platform adjacency into measured synergy.

Growth claims need labels

Holywater said My Drama revenue grew by about two times in 2025. Axios reported that the company said revenue grew threefold in 2025. The difference may reflect different company or product boundaries, or different rounding; the public statements do not provide a reconciled financial table. Neither figure should be converted into a dollar revenue estimate.

The useful reading is that the round financed a multi-product vertical-media proposition while external reporting corroborated the amount and lead investor. The funding does not establish valuation, profitability, cash runway, or market share. Those fields should remain blank unless a filing or a directly attributable disclosure supports them. It is also a reminder that growth percentages are only comparable when their numerator, denominator and business perimeter are known.
